Beebe fills PSC slot

Gov. Mike Beebe has named Little Rock lawyer Colette Honorable, currently director of the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board, to the vacancy on the state Public Service Commission created when Sandra Hochstetter spun through the regulatory agency's doors to employment for a utility she'd been regulating. Honorable, 37, a Little Rock lawyer who had been Beebe's chief of staff when he was attorney general, is a fine pick. I know her from work on the Central High historic site. She's smart and capable, and friendly in the bargain. I've always figured her for a judicial candidate some day. I asked her about that Saturday during a rally for school board candidate Micheal Daugherty and, in retrospect, I see now why her answer seemed a little non-commital.

The governor also named Ken Ferguson of Pine Bluff to succeed Honorable in the Workforce Board job. He has been director of human resources for Pine Bluff.
