What's right with Iowa

Posted By on Mon, Oct 22, 2007 at 8:59 AM

There are the surreal Iowa caucuses, which, though overloaded by extremists, are accorded huge influence by the national media. Then there are the people of Iowa at large. Survey USA has polled Iowa on matchups between Hillary Clinton and each of the six Republican candidates. She beats them all. Closest are Giuliani (48-43) and McCain (49-44). Mike Huckabee (51-41) is farther back than all but Ron Paul (52-36). Thompson and Romney are both 50-42.
