Gov. Mike Beebe told reporters yesterday that indeed more inspectors were needed at the Department of Environmental Quality to keep up with Fayetteville shale gas exploration. But he has no plans to address it until the 2009 legislative session. Which means no money for new employees until July 2009. In the meanwhile .... if you can't trust gas drillers to protect the environment, who can you trust?
