Silently comes the election

Posted By on Wed, Dec 5, 2007 at 3:41 PM

Did you know there's an election in Little Rock Tuesday for 1.5 mills for the library? It would provide a half-mill for operations and a mill for construction of a children's library in midtown and a branch library in Otter Creek.

Early voting began yesterday. 17 people turned out at the courthouse, the only early voting site. Voting is only in Little Rock

The less said publicly the better, in some respects. General discussion avoids inflaming the traditional anti-tax groups. The campaign is targeting library supporters with direct mail and a phone bank is in operation, too. There'll be some limited advertising before Tuesday.

We'll be at the polls. Money will enhance computer capability and books by mail, among other services.
