I’d encourage NWA sports writers to check the court record again on Razorback basketball player Charles Thomas’ appearance at the county lockup in Fayetteville yesterday. The record indicates Thomas did not appear for community service as ordered last month and a pickup order was issued that led to his appearance at the jail yesterday. He was quickly released — a little out of the ordinary, our sources say — but jail officials have leeway on enforcing sentences, whether by continued community service or converting it to “flat” jail time.
