Around 200 were on hand today for a state Capitol rally in support of the West Memphis Three, including Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines, Maines spoke briefly on behalf of the cause before delivering letters of concern to the governor’s office. Beforehand, supporters with Arkansas Take Action, a grass-roots organization headed by Little Rock restaurant owner Capi Peck, unfurled a four-foot-wide, two-block-long banner covered in postcards from WM3 supporters worldwide.

In addition to television and print reporters from all over the region, a documentary crew from HBO and cameras from CNN’s Larry King Live were on hand at today’s rally. King’s show will be devoted to the WM3 case tonight, including a jailhouse interview with Damien Echols that King conducted last Friday at Varner Penitentiary. Tune in to CNN at 9 p.m. tonight to catch the show.
