Another departure

Posted By on Thu, Jan 10, 2008 at 4:03 PM

Another resignation has been announced in the Little Rock School District. John Bacon is leaving as principal of Hall High School Jan. 24. I have a call into him about it. I thought Bacon had been doing a good job improving Hall. I know from work with him on our Academic All-Stars project that his kids had a great champion.

Two guns were found on campus recently -- one inside and one in a car -- but I have no idea if this is related in any way to the news.

UPDATE: He's off to the Walton-Hussman Memorial Charter School, Roy Brooks prop. He's the third former LRSD administrator joining Brooks at the school and said, though he hated to leave Hall at mid-year, it was a critical time for recruitment and planning for the school to open next year. He said he didn't know his precise pay, but had been told it would be comparable to his pay as Hall principal.
