Huckstering the Caymans

Posted By on Thu, Feb 14, 2008 at 5:13 PM

You know Mike Huckabee is jetting down to the Cayman Islands for a paid speech this weekend at a Young Caymanians Leadership Conference.

He spoke there in 2001, too.

For the record, here's his statement of financial interest for 2001. I have looked but can't find he reported a speaking fee or a gift of travel to attend the event. Perhaps he flew on his own dime and spoke for free.

What do you think?

PS -- A Caymanian newspaper isn't so happy about Huckster cracks about offshore banking.

PPS -- Cayman National, the islands' biggest banking concern and also an operator on the Isle of Man, another tax haven, is apparently the sponsor of the event at which Huckabee will speak.
