State political filings

Posted By on Mon, Mar 10, 2008 at 12:31 PM

It's over. If the secretary of state's page (scroll down page and click on all candidates) is up to date, none of the state's congressional delegation drew an opponent. A Green Party candidate is expected to be nominated to oppose U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor.

Legislsative action picked up.There will be 15 Democratic primary races for House nominations and eight on the Republican side. Twenty-one House districts drew both Democratic and Republican candidates. There will be three contested Democratic Senate primaries. And there's the one big Senate fight in November -- Democrat Joe White of Conway against Republican Sen. Gil Baker. This may be one of the most expensive state Senate races.
