Alltel Corp.'s loss of $525 million for the fourth quarter last year on expenses related to the sale of the company was reported this morning. Roby Brock's talkbusiness.net reports on some interesting compensation facts from the company's 10K filing: CEO Scott Ford received $127 million in salary, stock awards and other compensation, a good portion of which was related to the sale of the company to Goldman Sachs and TPG capitol.
