Dillard's/CDI/Glasgow etc.

We caught wind of this early in the week, but, surprise, neither Dillard's nor CDI would return our calls on the subject.

Talk Business has the news now on Dillard's shopping its stake in CDI Contractors, the giant construction firm that grew out of a partnership between Dillard's Department Stores and the late Bill Clark.

As everyone knows, the relationship has become difficult. The chief financial officer of CDI, John Glasgow, disappeared in late January in the midst of some friction with Dillard's over 1) accounting practices and 2) plans for reworking ownership of CDI after the death of founder Bill Clark. Here's a quick recent primer.

Realistically, it is hard to see now how the old partnership can survive.
