Separate but equal proms

Posted By on Fri, Apr 18, 2008 at 2:33 PM

Proms have been in the news of late in NW Ark.  There have been concerns about security in Rogers, mentioned earlier today, as well as an earlier question about admission of students from outside the high schools holding the proms.

Now an inquiring mind has another question: Do any schools in Arkansas still hold segregated proms, either officially or through  subterfuges where what are essentially high school proms are sponsored by community organizations, separate from the high school?

Let me know.
