John McCain's tap-dancing

A Washington Post columnist notes John McCain's latest rounds of flip-flopping. It's about triangulation to reach the important middle, while also stirring up a not-so-enthusiastic Republican base. Latest polling shows him making gains among independents.

He'll have to do better, if recent gains by Obama among Arkansas voters are an indication.
