Cutting the nuts out

Posted By on Thu, Jul 10, 2008 at 2:02 PM

Here's an interesting item from Columbia Journalism Review on how the media covered Jesse Jackson's unintentionally recorded remark that he'd like to cut Barack Obama's nuts off for remarks Jackson considered patronizing to blacks.

TAP earlier had written me wondering if this little flap might have somehow been a genius manipulation by the savvy Obama camp, a junior Sister Souljah event. As the Bloomberg article notes, getting a bit on the wrong side of Jackson (who remains a stout Obama supporter) is a plus with many voters. I think it's just a case of Jackson's mouth running. Remember Hymietown?
