Public records and Social Security

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel has fielded a question on state obligations as regards public records that contain Social Security numbers. Check it out. It's an interesting discussion. Things are not so clear-cut as you might suppose. But note ...

.. no single Arkansas law comprehensively regulates social security number protection. Similarly, regarding birth dates, there is no comprehensive protection for this information under the Arkansas Code.
