Obama loves the shale

Posted By on Mon, Aug 4, 2008 at 2:12 PM

Obama tries to steal energy from the Republicans today with a broad energy plan and a broadside against McCain's support from the oil bidness.

Here's the plan. Please note on Page 5 his vow to be sure the feds work to overcome any infrastructure needs or other impediments to speedy exploita..., er, expoloration of unconventional gas deposits such as the Fayetteville shale. He must have been watching some of those Chessie infomercials.

Obama has a thoughtful plan, some specific quibbles aside. The Republicans have empty talk (as if legislation would bring more drilling or more oil or lower prices) or silly, misinformed gags. (Spoof tire inflation if you want, but it does save gas.)
