Hotel design UPDATE

Posted By on Mon, Sep 8, 2008 at 10:37 AM

Here are the drawings for the aloft hotel proposed for the parking lot on the opposite side of Clinton Ave. from the River Market.

UPDATE: A River Market design committee will review the idea tomorrow morning and Library Director Bobby Roberts will be present to continue his objections to the proposal to exceed height restrictions for new districts. He said he didn't oppose a hotel in the spot that met the height limit, but said he was concerned about the precdent approval could set for the district in the future. He insists his opposition is no pretext for other motives. The library has talked about using the property same day. An auditorium had been discussed. But he said the library has other property in the neighborhood and that his concern is more about protecting the neighborhood in the future.
