It shoulda been Huck

Posted By on Tue, Sep 9, 2008 at 6:06 AM

A writer who's followed the Religious Right examines why Republicans passed over Mike Huckabee, far better known and liked among religious conservatives, for Sarah Palin. Partly, the writer suggests, because Republican leadership really hates the kind of people he does a better job of representing. But you knew that.

And speaking of Huck: John Brummett this morning deconstructs Mike Huckabee's error-ridden Republican National Convention speech, desks and all.

Huckabee has reason to envy Palin for more than her v.p. nomination. Even The Huckster never thought of billing taxpayers for spending nights in his own home down on the lake, though they paid plenty of attendant costs. Palin could teach him a thing or three.
