I’m about to leave for a long weekend in New York to celebrate a milestone birthday for Ellen with our kids, both New Yorkers now. Highlight of the trip should be the open air Central Park production of “Hair.” It dates me. My freshman college dorm counselor played the soundtrack non-stop. It must not have been too revolutionary. My counselor had an autographed photograph of his mentor, Strom Thurmond, on his wall. Of course, we now know ol’ Strom wasn’t quite a unilateral racist. Funny the things I remember out of the mountains of stuff I’ve forgotten and continue to forget daily.
I’ll be checking in as I’m able. Leslie, David, Munford and others will Let the Sun Shine In.
