How low can it go?

Posted By on Wed, Sep 17, 2008 at 3:43 PM

UPDATE: 450 points lower, at least, is the answer to the headline.

From earlier today:

The market continues to crater. A study commission you say, Mr. McCain? And, you, Gov. Palin? What would you do? Shoot a moose? Grab a tan? Tax an oil company and send us all a check?

And speaking of empty rhetoric, read what other Republicans in Congress say about McCain's tough talk about earmarks. Bush-wah.

And re the economy: I watched extended clips of McCain and Obama on TV last night. One was full of empty bluster and dishonesty about his record. One knew what he was talking about -- not grandiose promises, but he conveyed a sense that if intellect could carry the day, the day might be carryable. You figure out who.
