Ark. skinhead makes headlines

Posted By on Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 3:26 PM

This is all I know from MSNBC website at the moment, but ..... sigh. Thanks to Roby Brock for the tip.

BREAKING NEWS: ATF says it disrupted skinhead plot in Tenn., Ark. to assassinate Obama.

UPDATE: We've dug up an account of the indictment on which this headline is apparently based. This may be the random nut incident -- which isn't to say it isn't unsettling. It involves an 18-year-old from West Helena and an indictment returned in  Tennessee on Friday. They talked of a mass slaughter at a high school, too.

Here's a news release from Tennessee.

And here's the affidavit that supports the case.

  • Another made-up Republican attack: The Saline County socialists are coming to take your business

The latest in bogus Republican political attacks comes from Saline County, where Steve Lux, chairman of the county Republican Committee, has sent a letter warning members of the Benton-Bryant Chamber of Commerce that a progressive group working to elect Democrats in the county is allied with a socialist group that wants nothing less than "the elimination of private business." This is, of course, nonsense.
