Rahm on the attack

Posted By on Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 10:17 AM

Rahm Emanuel, the hard-charging Chicago politico, may be Barack Obama's White House chief of staff. He was a Clinton hand, beginning with the 1992 campaign. That time, and a famous Emanuel story from the Little Rock days, recalls a story about a knife-wielding Emanuel and the political assassin that lurks within.

(I still remember his over-the-top arrival at the Arkansas Ball of the 1993 Clinton inaugural. By limo. With full entourage. Seems like he had a full-length leather trench coat and was accompanied by menacing sorts. Had they pulled tommy guns from beneath their coats I wouldn't have been surprised.)

UPDATE: He will be White House chief of staff.

Donald Trump gave a remarkable interview to the New York Times yesterday in which he declared open season on the marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton's past infidelity. Seems like a loser, but I've been wrong before.

Hillary Clinton's campaign for president illustrates again the double standard applied to women. Some writers get it. They even find the supposedly unlikable Clinton inspiring.
