NLR watch

Posted By on Sat, Dec 6, 2008 at 10:54 AM

Scott Miller, who brought us Argenta News and the late Dogtown Wire from his Argenta district perch, has a new effort to produce  a one-stop news website for North Little Rock. NLR Daily News looks pretty sharp. He hopes to encourage an "open source" news model, with contributions from all over. We'll be watching. He's already provided some important insight on NLR affairs, so much so that the daily newspaper draws a number of its story ideas from his work. I'm surprised he hasn't made more out of being based in NLR, unlike the city's community weekly, The Times, which is headquartered in Little Rock.

From a quick scan, I notice a proposal to turn McCain Mall into a TIF district. It turned out not as crazy as it first sounded, though I still think the notion of funneling tax money into the hands of Simon Property Group must be intended as satire.
