Fire in the River Market

Posted By on Sun, Dec 7, 2008 at 2:06 PM

A blog reader who stays up way later than I do reports a fire in River Market during the wee hours this morning, with ambulances on hand, perhaps for smoke inhalation treatment.

I can't pierce the Fire Department bureaucracy just yet beyond a confirmation that the company responded to a fire inside Ernie Biggs at 1:24 a.m. today. I'll keep looking. Anybody in our readership happen to be around at that time?

This follows a fire less than a week ago during a burglary of River Market offices a block to the east.

UPDATE: One reader reports an electrical problem, near the stage, at Ernie Biggs and he believes it wasn't serious. Here's a report says one person treated.
