Dillard's CDI purchase

Posted By on Wed, Dec 10, 2008 at 8:40 AM

Roby Brock at Talk Business has some details from a recent regulatory filing by Dillard Department Stores, which includes the price -- nearly $10 million -- it paid to buy out the Clark family's 50 percent interest in the CDI construction firm. The joint venture fell on rocky times following the death of co-founder William Clark and the mysterious disappearance of CDI's chief financial officer, John Glasgow.

It has been suggested to me, only half in jest, that Dillard's purchase of CDI, traditionally profitable, is the best business decision the company has made in many a year.

Some more history on the Little Rock city ordinance that limits candidates for mayor and City Board to raising campaign funds to five months before the November 2018 election. It raises questions not only about Warwick Sabin's fund-raising tactics, but also Mayor Mark Stodola's carryover money.
