Something's in the air

Former President Clinton, Gov. Mike Beebe and state Rep. Kathy Webb will meet the press Saturday morning at the Clinton Library to talk about a climate change initiative announcement.

Presumably it is not to unveil  a proposal for intensive monitoring of the new SWEPCO coal roaster in Hempstead County to prove once and for all that  greenhouse gases are bad for the planet and other living things.

    One of the booths at this week's Ark-La-Tex Medical Cannabis Expo was hosted by the Arkansas Hemp Association, a trade group founded to promote and expand non-intoxicating industrial hemp as an agricultural crop in the state. AHA Vice President Jeremy Fisher said the first licenses to grow experimental plots of hemp in the state should be issued by the Arkansas State Plant Board next spring.
