Crime watch

Posted By on Sat, Dec 20, 2008 at 8:43 PM

Circulating today on the Heights neighborhood e-mail list:

At 3:40 this morning, my husband caught 2 white males in their early 20's standing in the middle of our 16 year old son's bedroom. He was able to wrestle one of them to the ground in the backyard. The other one got away in a maroon SUV. An ipod, a gameboy and car keys were taken from the desk 3 feet from where our son was sleeping. While waiting for police to arrive my husband questioned and beat the burglar until he was crying for the police to come rescue him.

These people were either really brave or really stupid to come to a house lit with 30,000 Christmas lights!

More details will follow.

Merry Christmas!

  • Another made-up Republican attack: The Saline County socialists are coming to take your business

The latest in bogus Republican political attacks comes from Saline County, where Steve Lux, chairman of the county Republican Committee, has sent a letter warning members of the Benton-Bryant Chamber of Commerce that a progressive group working to elect Democrats in the county is allied with a socialist group that wants nothing less than "the elimination of private business." This is, of course, nonsense.
