Burris not seated

Posted By on Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 11:43 AM

Blago's nominee to take President-elect Obama's Senate seat shows up and is shown the door: the secretary of the Senate rejected his credentials this morning. Burris had been greeted with a mob of reporters and photographers; Capitol police had to clear a path. Roland Burris later held a news conference with his lawyers, who declared the Senate's move was "against the law of the land."

PS -- A sharp-eyed Arkie says he thinks, from watching TV, that Bud Jackson, who has handled press for Bill Halter's lottery campaign, was on the scene handling press for Burris. Check the Arkansas Project page.
