It's not easy doing good

A spokesman for Heifer International says the international hunger relief organization has laid off four people and a part-timer, three of them in Little Rock, as part of a restructuring. The layoffs were in marketing as Heifer tries to "diversify its donor base" and some changes may be coming in other employees' assignments. The cuts were said not to be directly related to a decline in fund-raising. A spokesman said Heifer, like other non-profits was experiencing a downturn, though not as severe as many others.
