UPDATE: He has commuted the prison sentences of the border agents who 1) killed shot an unarmed Mexican drug dealer and 2) tried to cover it up.

And, since many readers seem worked up on this issue, here’s an article in that liberal journal, National Review, about why the prosecution of these two by a Republican U.S. attorney — and conviction by 12 Texans good and true — was justified and why quick release might not be in order for agents who tried to cover up firing 15 shots at a fleeing man. That he was shot in the butt suggests he wasn’t close to turning to confront them with his non-existent gun.
