Mike Disfarmer, the reclusive Heber Springs photographer whose spare portraits of local people in the first half of the 20th century have become collector's items, is now the subject of a play opening a two-week run this week in New York. It's puppet theater accompanied by a banjo score, a different artistic take. Fitting in a way for someone who marched to his own drum.
