Obama resolution now P.C.

Posted By on Mon, Feb 2, 2009 at 3:58 PM

Presumably this amendment filed today will satisfy the prickly Republicans (and a few namby-pamby Dems) who derailed a congratulatory resolution for Barack Obama because it tarred founding fathers with slavery.  (No matter that slavery happened to be legalized by the laws and Constitution all the public officials among them swore to uphold.) The workout:

Page 1, line 24, delete "a nation founded by slave owners" and substitute "a country whose history includes the shame of slavery"

  • Another Republican miracle-working governor

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
