Bow your heads; and check your safeties

The Arkansas House voted 57-42 today to allow concealed weapons in church.

Sigh. The roll call isn't posted yet, but should be shortly at this link.

Much debate. John Williams volunteers that Rep. Donna Hutchinson (R-Desolation Row) said she didn't like the bill and didn't particularly want to vote for it, but something had to be done for the small churches that couldn't afford their own security forces.

WWWJCD? What would William Jefferson Clinton do? Ask him next Wednesday, when he addresses a joint session of the General Assembly at 10 a.m. Give Clinton this much: He stood up to the NRA.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
