How stupid are we?

Posted By on Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 4:08 PM

Pretty stupid, national Republicans believe. Arkansas, and specifically U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, is being targeted in new ads on select senators' votes for the Obama stimulus legislation.

"Senator Blanche Lincoln is backing the shocking Obama-Reid-Pelosi plan," says the Lincoln version of the ad. "Stand up to Obama and Lincoln."

The ads target Republicans Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins, as well as Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, "because she resides in a conservative state and is vulnerable during the election season next year," a spokeswoman for the group said.

Well. On this one, I think Arkansas most likely reflects the national polling, broad support at this moment for Obama's effort. Certainly versus doing nothing or tax cuts for the rich. But, who knows? The presidential election results in Arkansas don't offer Lincoln much comfort.
