Hear them roar

Another run at Arkansas passsage of the Equal Rights Amendment is due to be filed shortly. Senate sponsors are Sue Madison, Mary Anne Salmon and Joyce Elliott. They have 15 co-sponsors. That's enough for passage in the Senate.

Of course, the last run at the ERA had sufficient sponsors for House passage, but sponsors couldn't get Rep. Lindsley Smith's resolution out of a House committee where Religious Right opposition beat the measure on a 10-10 tie.

Here's the joint resolution, filed in House today by Rep. Smith. Looks like she has about 43 sponsors in the House so far.
