Daycare followup

Posted By on Fri, Mar 13, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Regards Scott daycare operator, Carolyn Bynum. As we reported first last night, at least 10 children in her care were mistakenly served windshield cleaner fluid rather than Kool-aid yesterday and were treated last night at Arkansas Children's Hospital. DHS spokesman said Bynum was licensed to care for 10 children. Twelve children were present at the time of the incident, but that might have been a legal number depending on ages of the children, spokesman Julie Munsell said.

Children's Hospital said nine of 10 children brought to its emergency room were released last night. One child remains hospitalized for observation today, but is in good condition, a spokesman said.

UPDATE: The center is not operating today and DHS spokesman Munsell says Bynum has requested that her license be closed.
