Suffer the animals

Posted By on Thu, Mar 19, 2009 at 6:37 AM

The recession is causing difficult times for zoos nationwide. (Not a good time, the news suggests, to undertake an expansion program, speaking of a Little Rock-relevant idea.)

The NY Times reports. Article mentions that a strapped zoo in Missouri is shipping animals off to other zoos, including impalas and kudus to Arkansas and Texas. Susan?

UPDATE: Zoo spokesman Susan Altrui says if those animals are headed to Arkansas, they are not headed to the Little Rock Zoo.
