On beating Blanche

Posted By on Sun, Apr 5, 2009 at 7:41 AM

John Brummett checks in with Republican Chair Doyle Webb on the GOP's elevated hopes that U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln is vulnerable in 2010. The usual suspects mentioned. I think Sen. Gilbert Baker is more interested than indicated by Webb.

Let Webb keep tossing the word "liberal" around like an oath. It never hurt people like Pryor, Bumpers, Clinton, etc., very much. Labels have little meaning when economic existence is on the line. Plus, populist Arkansas isn't nearly so "conservative" as Republicans like to think. We like government programs. It would have been hell around here without them.
