Idolators

Posted By on Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 8:52 PM

Sifting through Twitter notes this evening, I come across blogger Jason Tolbert's messages indicating that Rep. Ann Clemmer of Bryant (recently revealed as a Hillcrest-leaning legislator in Republican disguise) is among the legion of fans of Kris Allen, the Arkie entry on "American Idol."

Some folks in my office begin each day with an intense and extended recap of Idol and the Conway heartthrob's latest performance. Me, I've never seen the show. Tolbert tweets:

* Rep. Ann Clemmer on Facebook - Vote 1-866 idols 02 for him (Kris Allen) after the show ends at 8:00. You can vote for 2 hours.

  • Rep. Ann Clemmer on Facebook - Kris Allen was freaking awsome just now. This guy is really talented and needs to stay in the contest.1 minute ago from web
  • So what about it Ark. Bloggers? Idol fans? Allen fans? Am I missing something here?

My colleagues John Ray and Jesse Bacon and I estimate, in the first analysis of its kind for the 2018 election season, that the president's waning popularity isn't limited to coastal cities and states. The erosion of his electoral coalition has spread to The Natural State, extending far beyond the college towns and urban centers that voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. From El Dorado to Sherwood, Fayetteville to Hot Springs, the president's approval rating is waning.
