John Brummett credits the state's pollution control director for saying the right thing -- now -- about cracking down on pollution by handlers of waste from the gas drilling boom in the Fayetteville shale.

The recent report on this pollution might have been useful had it been released BEFORE the end of the legislative session. It would have added to a case for an even greater enhancement of staffing for the agency. But that might have cut into the GIF money for the Johnny Cash museum and such.
