Another opponent for Lincoln?

Posted By on Wed, May 20, 2009 at 2:15 PM

With most believing Sen. Kim Hendren will soon exit a U.S. Senate race against incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln, state Sen. Gilbert Baker sounds like a man increasingly likely to get in. A good indication is his disagreement with GOP Party Chair Doyle Webb's use of state Rep. Kathy Webb's sexual orientation as a party pep rally line. It will be critical for Baker to develop crossover appeal by downplaying his solid Religious Right credentials. Here, he might also simply disagree on principle, having worked with the diligent legislator. But Baker is the same guy who's often talked sneeringly in the past of Pulaski County values. And you know what that means.
