Another round of questioning

Posted By on Wed, May 27, 2009 at 4:17 PM

The State Police have announced they've picked up a third man for questioning related to the deaths of Tammy Lawrence and Ahki Hughes, found shot to death in an SUV in North Little Rock. No details on significance. It had earlier questioned two men in connection with the case, but filed no charges. The following news release updates information last provided on May 20th with regard to one of the three individuals still at large that Arkansas State Police CID Special Agents have wanted to question with regard to the deaths of Tammy Lawrence and Ahki Hughes.
Earlier this afternoon Terry Dean Birts, 25, of North Little Rock, surrendered to Pulaski County authorities in connection with a warrant for failure to appear.  Birts is currently being held without bond at the Pulaski County Jail.
Special Agents hope to be able to question Birts later today.

  • Another made-up Republican attack: The Saline County socialists are coming to take your business

The latest in bogus Republican political attacks comes from Saline County, where Steve Lux, chairman of the county Republican Committee, has sent a letter warning members of the Benton-Bryant Chamber of Commerce that a progressive group working to elect Democrats in the county is allied with a socialist group that wants nothing less than "the elimination of private business." This is, of course, nonsense.
