Corporate welfare payback

Scott Miller at Argenta News contributes some useful backstory to the announcement yesterday that 140 people would lose jobs in the closure of the 53-year-old Chicopee plant in North Little Rock. The City Council gave the plant a preferential electric rate in November 2007 so the company could be more competitive and hire more local workers.

No givebacks on the handouts required.
