Sanford's mailbag

Posted By on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 7:08 AM

The State in Columbia, S.C., prints many more Republican Gov. Mark Sanford-Maria e-mails today. And it has lots more coverage readily accessible from the link. Reader reaction is strong. Many believe Sanford's privacy was violated by release of the e-mails. Many are blasting the newspaper for sitting on them for six months. Editors say they could not be verified previously. Yes, of course, many want Sanford to resign.

It's a story with many dimensions. Key moral: Don't send anything in an e-mail you aren't prepared to see released to the public.

The story of the hour is which media outlet will get the first photo of Maria and how much they'll pay for it.
