Should Mike Huckabee be accorded more respect as a future presidential candidate? Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post examines the question here. Answer: Yes and no. He does have a base of enthusiastic supporters and he’s been doing all the things a candidate does to keep his name current and growing in familiarity. But he writes that Huckabee largely flew under radar and ignored by “major” candidates in 2008 and was essentially the only social conservative in the race, something unlikely to be repeated in 2012.
