Latest phony rap on Obamacare: UPDATE

Posted By on Wed, Jul 29, 2009 at 11:03 AM

It would promote "euthanasia." No. It would promote awareness of the possibility (and wisdom in my own experience with parents who had very clear wishes) of having a "living will." It's nothing but agitprop from the same old wackjobs.

Republicans will say just about anything and the so-called mainstream media will print it. But this at least concerns a legislative issue, a welcome departure from the other major talking point in the Limbaugh-Beck-etc. echo chamber -- President Obama is, in case you haven't noticed, black (and in some depictions a witch doctor with a bone in his nose).

UPDATE: In more important news, it would appear there's some sort of deal struck by House Democrats. Elements: Delay vote on health legislation until September. A public option of a sort is still preserved. A higher payroll exemption from a proposed charge for small businesses.

UPDATE II: U.S. Rep. Mike Ross of the spendthrift (on defense and agriculture) Blue Dog Coalition Tweets thusly: "Significant breakthrough on health care -- House leadership agrees to deal that reduces costs, saves rural hospitals, protects small businesses."
