All in the family -- Huckabucks

Posted By on Sat, Aug 1, 2009 at 9:12 AM

Add the influential Politico website to the politics watchers that have taken note of the poor financial performance of Mike Huckabee's Huck PAC. It filed a six-month report yesterday. Politico noted amid the low revenue and continuing debt that Huckabee's expenses included $29,000 in salary to his daughter, Sarah, executive director of the PAC. It could have noted that the organization has two fewer family members than his campaign organizations have carried. Daughter-in-law Lauren Huckabee departed to work for a U.S. Senate candidate and son David is working for the private media arm of Team Huck. Politico missed one other family member on the payroll. Niece Katherine Harris is drawing about $2,330 a month as a staffer, plus health and dental benefits.

PS - Newspaper in Alabama follows up that occasion where Huck charged $33,000-plus to appear at a "fund-raiser" for a congressional candidate. Endorsements are not for sale, Sarah Huckabee says.
