The “town hall” announced by the Central Labor Council for Wednesday night with U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder at a SWLR union hall has been scrapped. It will be rescheduled, but a new date hasn’t been set. A labor spokesman said logistics of the event hadn’t been worked out.

I can’t say for sure, but I’m guessing that the rescheduling had something to do with misunderstandings about the nature of the meeting. Snyder’s office said it had been told the Labor Council’s intention was to have a members-only meeting on the Employee Free Choice Act and health legislation. But word got around (the Labor Council used the phrase “town hall meeting” in its news release) and others, notably unhappy teabaggers, had expressed interest in attending. A spokesman for Snyder said the congressman was willing to speak at an open meeting or a union meeting.

In the meanwhile, Snyder will be taking questions from the public tonight on live TV. It will be on KARK 4 News at 7 on sister station KARZ, Ch 42. You can send in questions via Twitter.com by addressing them to @kark.com
