Beebe on the phone

Posted By on Fri, Aug 7, 2009 at 9:25 AM

Gov. Mike Beebe took questions on radio this morning. One caller wanted the governor to stop  health care reform legislation in Washington. Beebe said, among other things, that he was "absolutely convinced" they're not going to "ration care" or "pull the plug" on seniors. Caller sounded unconvinced.

Questions, too, about stoplights and undocumented workers. Also about double-dipping. Beebe took pains to note that legal questions concerned elected county officials, not state employees enjoying two checks by legal means. He later said it would be a matter for the legislature to discuss on whether enabling double-dipping by state employees was a good practice.
