More from Main Street

Posted By on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 9:26 AM

I'd nominate the thread of comments on yesterday's item about a strategy session this week on Main Street redevelopment as one of the most thoughtful I've seen in these parts. Thanks for all contributions.

Mayor Stodola left a voice mail message overnight in response to what I wrote. He said he's been working hard to have representatives of all major property owners at the sessions -- from the Donaghey Building owner at one end to Stephens Inc. and the Peabody owners at the other -- and said he's succeeded in just about every case. Is that the same thing as commitment to creative thinking or, better still, cash investment from these landowners? Stodola acknowledges it is not, but he's hopeful it's a step in the right direction.
